Our Mission and Vision

The “Giving Project”
Nika is a Zulu word meaning, “to give, supply”. Our project began in a rural school in South Africa named Kulani, a special needs school with over 300 students. This extraordinary group of educators, learners, and community taught us the power of collaboration and sharing of tools and ideas to advance special education. We saw how using understandable, attainable mobile technology tools, we were able to overcome a multitude of barriers that were preventing many incredible schools from tapping into the true capabilities of their students. From these beginnings, The Nika Project was born and has now grown to include collaborative projects in communities locally and around the globe.
